1. Re: Getty Villa - How to avoid $20 parking. There is no entrance or admission fee at the Getty Villa. The museum itself, with the gorgeous grounds, gardens and water features, neo-Classical buildings, and the huge variety of permanent and visiting exhibits, would be well worth an admission fee of $30-50 or more.
Prices are astounding to rent a car for a week to drive down the CA coast from SFO to LAX. Have tried different airports (leaving from San Jose rather than San Francisco, for example), in-city vs airport, reversing direction from LA up to SF instead of southbound, etc. Currently, the cheapest going rate is a penalty that is about $800.
There are lots that would seem to charge over $300 to park. There are SFO park sleep & fly hotels that would total over $200: Homewood Suites, The Inn at Oyster Point, La Quinta, Holiday Inn, Best Western El Rancho, Radisson, Days Hotel, Fairfield Inn by Marriott. There are also SFO hotels that offer parking only for 23 days at about $200 ...
