One thing you should keep in mind is that all subway/commuter rail parking lots fill very quickly Monday through Friday with the working crowd and available parking spaces can be iffy at some lots after 8:00 a.m. You may want to check out Woburn on the Lowell commuter rail line.

Another approach to parking at Logan -- and the one I prefer to use -- is to park at the Thrifty Car Rental lot on Lee Burbank Highway, just a few miles from the airport. You can get an discount coupon online that reduces the parking rate to $14.36 per day.
If you are going into town on a weekend it might cost about the same to park as to park at Alewife and take the subway. On the weekend you can probably find somewhere to park in the $12 range. I think the Boston Common garage is about that on the weekend. During the week parking is around $25-$35 a day.
