1. Re: White Sox--red line. The Red Line from downtown to U.S. Cellular Field is not only perfectly safe, but the absolute best way to get to the game. (I do it about 25 times a year!) Quick and cheap. I don't know where in the Loop you'll be getting on, but just get on at any Red Line station, and head south.
