1. Re: White Sox--red line. The Red Line from downtown to U.S. Cellular Field is not only perfectly safe, but the absolute best way to get to the game. (I do it about 25 times a year!) Quick and cheap. I don't know where in the Loop you'll be getting on, but just get on at any Red Line station, and head south.

The Red Line to & from Sox Park is absolutely safe as transit for a game. It's also the easiest way to go as the auto traffic around the stadium will be congested, making a Rideshare far less convenient. The train stop at 35th St. is one block from the stadium. There will be lots & lots of fans taking the train to & from the ballgame.
