Unexpected LA parking violation notice. My son and I were in LA for an apartment search trip in Dec 2012. Out of nowhere, I just received a notice from Alamo car rental saying that I had a violation of some sort about 6 weeks ago. The issuing agency is "City of LA - Parking Violations Feed" but it does not specify the location of occurrence.

The Radisson Hotel offers covered parking for $13 per day and they provide a coupon on their websiite for one free day of parking if you park for 3 or more days (which amounts to a daily charge of less than $10 !)
A ticket would cost you $75 and they ticket frequently, and parking is very difficult to find. Anyway, do you really want to spend your vacation filling a meter every 60 minutes? And, at $2 an hour, that adds up to more than your hotel's parking in half the time.
