Questions on parking at Indy Airport. 7 years ago. Save. I live in Indy (recently moved) and we are flying out of the airport for a small vacation soon (5-6 days). I want to park my car at the airport or some other location. I am preferring the economy parking of the airport which is $9 per day.The airport website gives very less information on ...

    1. IMHO it is crazy to (try) to park in a neighborhood. I won't go into all the possible downsides, but will mention that you could end up with a parking ticket, a tow, break-in, or . . . . Any of which could easily end up costing more than the parking; not to mention the time & headache involved (oops, I just mentioned it). 2.

Nothing beats the parking at Indy Airport, yes you might save a few bucks, but just knowing that you don't have to wait for a shuttle, that you can just be a bit late and still make your flight, or be able to arrive and just go pick up your uggage, if not, walk over the "disco bridge" and there is your car. Open 24-7.

There are no easy answers to this. There really isn't any cheap overnight parking downtown, depending on your definition of "cheap." None of the downtown parking rates are as horrific as, say, Boston or Chicago, but it still will cost $10-20 per day. You might be able to snag something for possibly $8 per day.

If you get there early enough, before 8 a.m. you can ususually find a way to make a U Turn or make a left turn. parking on the south side of 16th st makes for better leaving after the race. Most lots will be charging $20. or more and of course will go up the closer you get to the track.

I don't know for sure, but my guess is the IMS is skilled at making sure traffic flows into the infield parking and isn't held up by pedestrians for long - otherwise the traffic would create a bottleneck outside. Plenty of people park in the infield so I ...

If you can't snag an end spot and hug the edge, try parking way out near where you come in. Entrance is just off High School road north of the airport. Only downside is if the weather is bad, you have to walk up to 50 yards into the airport. 8.
