It's easy, Book one night at one of the port hotels and get parking included for your week's cruise: Try the Doubletree Hilton/San Pedro or the Crowne Plaza /San Pedro. Both have free shuttles to the pier and I believe both offer parking for your cruise .
Does anyone know if you can rent a car right at the cruise port, and if so who companies? If not, is it best to shuttle to LAX to get one, or is there a location closer to the cruise port to pick up a car. We usually use Avis but would consider others for convenience and cost.
For the return day, you'd need to uber or taxi from the port over to Hertz or Enterprise in San Pedro (assuming it's not a Sunday, if it is, you have to go to Long Beach). Make sure to reserve a one-way rental with an LAX dropoff in advance, either by phone or online.
We booked the Double tree park and cruise package, which included parking, room and transportation to the port for our cruise. Nice, quiet location and a few eating places close by just just might have to walk about 1/2 to 1 mile.
