I believe there is a parking pass you can buy, for underground parking, which allows you to park up to 5 times, for a set fee of $25 or so - check out the website or call the museum to make sure. It is possible that this parking pass is only available to museum members, but I am not sure.

Yes, general parking is free. There is VIP parking that can be purchased online, which will be closer to the venue. No matter what you do, get there early. Although we did not purchase a VIP parking pass, we were told that they were oversold and the VIP lots filled up.
