Save. US Park, Airlines Parking and Quik Park are the three offsite lots at DTW. They are all under the same ownership and charge the same rates - $10/day with a coupon off of their websites. There are additional discounts for AAA and some corporations - at Airlines I get $8/day with my business card and we also have reserved spots up front.
You used to be able to book online, and get about 20% or 25% off the posted rates, and then use a promo code (which were common) for another discount on top, and end up getting 40% to 50% off. Now, the online discounts are 0% to 10%, and promos are rare, and the base rates have inched up a bit, too.

Long term parking in the Green Lot is $15 per day and a shuttle would take them to the terminal. If they reserve a spot at one of the off-site lots, the charge is around $11 per day.
That park-and-ride lot is easy to find/get to because it has its own exit -- 15X -- off the New Jersey Turnpike; the lot is gated, well-lit, and attended; $10-12 for weekday parking.
