    We decided to take a trip to the Cleveland Metroparks zoo. It was easy to get to and parking was free. We went through the rainforest exhibit and was very impressed. It felt as if you were walking through the rainforest and the plants were labeled with common and scientific names and if there is a medical use for the plant.

    The zoo has a particularly good elephant viewing area with lots of vantage points. Compared to other zoos, I felt like I was able to get closer to the animals than typical (in a safe manner). This really enhanced my enjoyment of the afternoon. The zoo covers a very large area and was great for strolling around on a sunny Fall day.

    When we got to the ticket booth to show them our zoo membership, the ticket lady gave us a very hard time. She would only allow us to take 2 of our children in for free on the pass. We ended up having to pay for the rest. I told her I would show her the paperwork stating that we had a family pass and that we get into the Cleveland Zoo for free.
