6. Re: Parking at DTW. 6 years ago. Detroit Airport Parking can be tricky without research: There is terminal parking, the Green lots and four off-site lots. Be sure to check their pages for coupons. Also, certain hotels offer free transportation to and from the airport if you spend the night prior to your flight.
The deck is quite large so you can still end up with a pretty long walk, but there are moving sidewalks. C section is closest to the terminal as I recall. The three big offsite lots are US Park, Quik Park and Airline Parking. All have coupons online for $9/day and will shuttle you from your car to the terminal entrance. That will take 5-15 ...
1. Re: parking for north terminal-big blue deck. Yes, they can park in the Blue Deck and comfortably walk to the Spirit counter. It would cost $18 per 24-hour period. Long term parking in the Green Lot is $15 per day and a shuttle would take them to the terminal. If they reserve a spot at one of the off-site lots, the charge is around $11 per day.

We're thinking of parking at the airport because it's covered but wondering whether it is easy to get a parking space without a long walk into the terminal (Spirit Air). Other option is off airport parking with shuttle.
I fly out of DTW at 6:30 am on Saturday the 19th. I will return at 8:05pm on Wednesday the 23rd. I have the coupons for Qwik Park, US Park and Airlines Parking. Qwik Park and US Park are offering 1 day free, $9/day. Airlines Parking is $10/day with one day free.

I'm sure you already know, but Spirit is now charging for any checked baggage, it's $10 if you do it online before hand and $20 if you do it at the airport.
