However, many of the garages have fixed/flat prices depending on what time you arrive and leave the garage. The earlier you arrive and later you leave, the better.
I checked their location at 250 W 50th St for a random Saturday in September. $25 for 6 hours, either a reservation if you prepay, or a coupon but not a guaranteed spot. Other choices are $20 for 3 hours or $33 for 12 hours. BTW, Icon has similar rates for many of their locations on weekends and evenings.

I'd actually look a bit south to some of the lots near the piers in the west 50's and 60's, via the best parking (link above) because that is a more "industrial" less residential area. The problem with a larger vehicle is that few, if any, garages in NYC are self park.
Central Parking on the east side of 8th Avenue is very good. It is a Park & Lock garage and you can park as many as something like 8 levels down. Petty theft will always be a problem in America. NYC is one of the safest places in the world but there will always be some desperate people who may break a window and try to make off with a briefcase ...
Parking to use the subway. 7 years ago. Tomorrow we will be arriving in the city from upstate. The plan is to go to the subway terminus at Van Courtlandt Park. We will park our rental car there, and spend 3 days in Manhattan until Sunday, when we return to Albany. I see a parking garage, next to the station, the Broadway.
10. Re: Parking my car for a week in NYC. Wowzer -- even the "cheap" flights from Saint John are ridiculously expensive, $900 - $1000/person!! But I fear that there's been a misunderstanding re: Bangor airline fares. $342 for a round-trip flight between Bangor and NYC looks to me to be the price for 1 person, not 2.
